About the IAPP

Janelle is a trainer, consultant, and trusted advisor for strategic and tactical decision-making within global organizations of all sizes. She is focused on the field of privacy and data protection and brings a diverse background with strong leadership, technical, and business skills spanning over 20 years in the areas of project management, IT, privacy, security, data governance, and process improvement. Because she is not a lawyer, she brings a business and risk-based perspective to integrate privacy with security and technology so that companies can operationalize their privacy requirements.

A consultant for over a decade, Janelle has experience in many industries including technology, IT management, software development, high-performance computing, financial services, restaurant management, SCADA, construction/property management, government, integrated justice, education, human resources, and training. Her leadership experience includes Privacy and Data Protection Consulting, Director of Privacy and Compliance, Deputy Information System Security Officer, and being on the Board of Directors for multiple associations. In addition to the IAPP certifications, she also holds the following certificates CISA, PMP, and GSLC.
