Hawah Ahmad is a law student at the University of Maine School of Law and is a participant in Maine Law’s Information Privacy Certificate Program. Hawah’s interest in privacy stems from her time as secretary to a criminal defense attorney, where she learned the importance of the right against illegal search and seizure. Her interests were further developed through Maine Law’s Information Privacy Institute, where she first came face-to-face with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. She earned a B.S. in Neuroscience and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno.



Outside of studies, Hawah enjoys cooking, reading up on policy, and is an avid animal lover.
