About the IAPP

Jeff Dunifon is Director, Privacy and Data Security Counsel for Dexcom, a global leader in diabetes care technology. Jeff has extensive experience in privacy and data security. He began his privacy career in the US Department of Health and Human Services – Office for Civil Rights (HHS-OCR). While at HHS-OCR, Jeff managed investigations implicating HIPAA’s Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules and negotiated mandated corrective actions. Following his time at HHS-OCR, he worked for a pair of global law firms in Chicago and New York in their Chambers-ranked privacy practices. While in private practice, Jeff advised a wide range of clients on compliance with US federal and state privacy and data security requirements, as well as international data protection requirements. Immediately prior to joining Dexcom, Jeff was the Global Privacy Officer for Zimmer Biomet, leading its privacy program across all business units and geographies.
