Mayra Alexandra Cavazos, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPT, FIP
Mayra is a Lead Privacy Compliance Consultant at MetLife’s Corporate Privacy Office. Before that, she was a Senior Consultant at a New York City and Chicago consulting firm, providing privacy advice to multi-national organizations in the information technology and pharmaceutical industries. Her expertise includes providing privacy solutions to companies with a global presence or looking forward to expanding to markets, such as the U.S., Latin America, and Europe. Mayra started her career in privacy in 2012 when she worked for the Department of International Law of the Organization of American States in Washington, D.C. analyzing the privacy laws in the Ibero-American region. She also worked for two of the most prominent law firms in Mexico where she advised large-scale companies on privacy law, bringing the European know-how to the region.
Mayra is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. She has an LL.M from the George Washington University Law School and an LL. B from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education School of Law. She served as IAPP’s New York City Co-Chair for 2018-2020.
