Derek is a Principal in Grant Thornton’s Cyber Risk Advisory Services Group.  Derek has over twenty (20) years of professional experience in cyber security and privacy consulting, including cyber security & privacy program assessment and implementation, security & privacy policies and standards development, as well as data protection and privacy solution implementation. Derek has helped global institutions in transforming their data privacy programs.  His work includes the design and deployment of privacy automation solutions, operationalization of privacy management processes, and implementing modern data protection solutions to secure personal data across on premise and cloud environments.  Derek is a frequent speaker on data security and privacy issues and has recently devoted his time in researching innovative ways to address privacy issues in supporting enterprise’s digital transformation initiatives. Derek leads the Privacy & Data Protection service offering at Grant Thornton.
