Francesco Banterle is a lawyer and specializes in privacy and data protection, intellectual property, e-commerce, and commercial laws, and freedom of information. His experience covers both private practice and in-house, as well as academic. He is legal counsel at Le Creuset Group AG, based in Switzerland, where he particularly takes care of data protection and IP issues at international level. Francesco was formerly associate to the Intellectual Property and Information Technology Department of BonelliErede, in Milan (Italy). He has advised on all aspects of privacy and data protection laws including global compliance strategy, international data transfers, big data and cloud computing, biometrics, profiling and consumer tracking, customer programs and direct marketing, and more in general data exploitation. He holds a PhD in Intellectual Property law from the Univeristy of Milan, where he is currently research assistant, and he is coordinating a blog on IP and IT laws issues (iplens.org).
