Peter Jaffe

Peter Jaffe is Vice President & Senior Associate General Counsel for Privacy & Technology at the National Geographic Society. There, he oversees the Society's privacy program, advises on technology and information governance, and manages the negotiation of all technology deals. Prior to joining the Society, he was Special Counsel at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he helped clients respond to data breaches and other security incidents, handle regulatory inquiries from privacy and cybersecurity regulators, navigate privacy and IP aspects of corporate transactions, and litigate technology and intellectual property disputes. Having worked in both the firm's US and London offices, he represented a variety of US and international clients with a focus on the technology, hospitality, and financial sectors. He graduated from Georgetown University Law Center magna cum laude and served as a law clerk to the Hon. Diane S. Sykes on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
