About the IAPP

Xavier Jean, CIPP/E, is Chief Privacy Officer and Group DPO at GSK (GlaxoSmithKline) since 2016. He is responsible for the design, implementation and continuous improvement of GSK’s data privacy compliance programme globally. Xavier led the IT Risk management function for 15 years prior to his appointment as an Ethics and Compliance Officer in 2013. His exposure to the legal and compliance risks linked to technology and associated with the imperative of the Pharmaceutical industry to demonstrate an ethical use of data naturally brought him to Privacy. He is currently serving as the vice Chairman of the IPMPC (International Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Privacy Consortium), a leading voice in the global pharmaceutical and medical device industries addressing innovative privacy solutions that protect patients, enhance health care, and support business enablement.
