Henry Velasquez Yanez
Henry Velasquez is an accomplished IT/IP and international Privacy lawyer/legal advisor with more than a decade of substantive knowledge and experience. He possesses a diverse complement of information security, privacy, compliance, data protection, intellectual property, legal and information technology leadership expertise in large, global corporate environments.
He currently serves as Data Protection Officer at a European level for a distinguished group of companies in the insurance sector. Among other areas his focus is on establishing/managing processes related to compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Prior to that, He has worked as Manager of Privacy, Governance, Risk & Compliance areas in leading Spanish Law Firms.
Henry holds a degree in Law as well as Master's Degrees in Intellectual Property Law and New Technologies Law from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid y Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
He is a frequent public speaker in various privacy, technology and compliance forums and events and has been widely published in legal and business journals and magazines in Spain. Publications which he has co-authored or contributed include: “Compliance: How to Manage Regulatory Company Risks”. Published by Thomson-Aranzadi (2015); “Corporate Compliance: Security and Compliance for Companies” (2010); “FactBook: Personal Data Protection Regulation” (3rd Edition).
