Kate Kliebert is a privacy lawyer and the founder of Kliebert Law, PLLC in Charlotte, North Carolina. She guides growing businesses through their evolving legal needs so they are ready to confidently embrace new challenges and opportunities. As part of this practice, she advises businesses on data privacy risk and compliance and helps them with data breach planning, response, and recovery. She also negotiates data licensing agreements, vendor contracts, and other commercial contracts, and assists start-ups and existing businesses with operational issues around their formation, trademarks, and marketing strategies.



Kate is a 2011 graduate of Vanderbilt Law School and holds a B.A. in English from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is passionate about educating small to mid-sized businesses on privacy and cybersecurity and holds the CIPP/US and CIPM designations from the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Kate also gives back her time and talents to her industry and her community. She is a past president of Women Lawyers of Charlotte and the current treasurer of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Privacy and Data Security Section.
