About the IAPP

Guilherme has a Bachelor’s degree in Law, a Master’s degree in Civil Law, and is a PhD Candidate in International and Comparative Law at University of São Paulo (USP), studying data protection in Europe, Brazil and the United States. Guilherme also holds a post-graduate degree in Law and Technology from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV/SP). He is a researcher in the fields of Privacy, Law and Technology, and International and Comparative Law and his academic experience includes research conducted at institutions such as ITSRio (2016), FGV/SP (2017) and USP (since 2017). Guilherme, is a counselor and Head of Data Privacy at CY² Law, also working with intellectual property, tech-sector M&A operations and general corporate contracts. Guilherme’s Data Protection practice includes clients in Healthcare, Financial Services, Blockchain-related projects, and general tech-related projects. Member of the IAPP since 2017, holding the CIPP/E and CIPM certifications.
