Litigation Chamber of the Belgian Data Protection Authority

Romain Robert is a qualified lawyer in Belgium and also a member of the litigation chamber of the Belgian data protection authority. Romain was program director at noyb, an NGO focusing on the enforcement of the GDPR. Before joining noyb, Romain worked at the European Data protection Supervisor, the European Data Protection Board, and the Belgian Data protection Authority. Before working for data protection regulators, Romain worked from 2002 to 2011 as a lawyer at the Brussels Bar in various law firms, where he specialised in electronic communications, data protection, intellectual property, consumer protection, IT contract and e-commerce laws. He was also a researcher between 2007 and 2011 at the CRIDS, Research Centre in Law, Technology and Society, at the University of Namur, where he focused on e-commerce, electronic communications, and data protection law. Romain published several articles on data protection, e-ecommerce, intellectual property and IT contract law.
