About the IAPP

As a Data Protection and Information Governance leader specializing in US, Latin America and EU regulatory environments, Tom has experience serving as the Privacy Officer and HIPAA Privacy Official for a global health insurer, as well as several years of Data Privacy consulting experience working with a variety of companies and industries, from new Silicon Valley start-ups through to Fortune 500 companies. Tom worked with Focal Point Data Risk, a technology and cyber risk consulting company, as Manager in the national Data Privacy practice, leading a team of Cyber Security and Legal specialist consultants on a range of Privacy compliance-related projects. Tom is a Certified Information Privacy Manager, Certified Privacy Professional for the US Public Sector, Fellow if Information Privacy, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls and is a certified OneTrust Privacy Manager and software Administrator.

 

Originally from the UK, Tom began his career working in PwC's Data Assurance practice after completing a Masters degree in Information Management and Business Technology.
