Lori Baker, Fellow of Information Privacy as certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals, is a regulatory compliance and privacy attorney qualified in both the USA and the UK. Lori’s work focuses on modernizing supervision and enforcement, as well as strategic international engagement in the Data Protection Commissioner’s Office in the Dubai International Financial Centre. She is an active participant in various Global Privacy Assembly working groups, and frequently contributes to developments in regulatory compliance, advanced technology governance and privacy both internationally and as a thought leader in the GCC region. Most recently, Lori drove the drafting and subsequent enactment in September 2023 of the DIFC’s regulations on processing personal data via autonomous and semi-autonomous (“AI”) systems, and accordingly will lead the formation of a certification and governance scheme required to permit high risk processing using such systems.

Her primary roles included Senior Compliance and Privacy Counsel / EU DPO at Dun & Bradstreet, Head of Ethics and Compliance at Orange Business Services and Global Regulatory/Privacy Specialist at BT Global Services.]
