Sam Castic, CIPP/US, CIPM, FIP, PLS
Sam Castic serves as Sr. Director of Privacy & Associate General Counsel at Nordstrom, Inc. Sam leads the Privacy team and advises the Nordstrom family of brands on privacy and cybersecurity law. Sam helps business leaders think strategically about existing and emerging privacy risks when designing new services and experiences, leads a customer-facing team in efforts to preserve brand trust and transparency about privacy practices, helps address privacy and security risks in vendor management, and supports data breach response planning and readiness.
Before joining Nordstrom, Sam worked as a privacy and cybersecurity lawyer at two AmLaw 100 law firms advising software, technology, telecommunications, and retail clients on privacy compliance and cybersecurity incident response. He also worked in house at T-Mobile where he supported the marketing team, including on privacy and cybersecurity legal and regulatory compliance.
Sam received his B.A. from the University of Washington, and his J.D. from NYU. He is a CIPP/US, CIPM, FIP, and PLS, and is admitted to practice in Washington.
