About the IAPP

Matt Wes, CIPP/US, is a third year law student at Santa Clara University School of law where he is pursuing an advanced certification in privacy law. Prior to law school, Matt served as a Deputy Press Secretary for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee under the direction of Chairman Carper. Upon graduating in May 2017, Matt hopes to use his law degree and career to advance consumer privacy while also promoting tech innovation. He is a Bay Area native and a proud alumnus of UC Santa Cruz.
