Lyn Nicholson is General Counsel in the Corporate & Commercial Group of Holding Redlich, based in Sydney and is the firm’s Practice Leader for Data & Privacy. 

Lyn has a wealth of corporate and commercial experience, including advising on complex corporate transactions

Her commercial experience has focused on intellectual property and information assets which have involved various technologies and regulatory regimes, including privacy and data issues. Her transactional work focuses on the information industry where she deals with issues that are often at the cutting edge of technology legally and ambiguous.

Lyn’s experience includes developing and implementing privacy and information security policies and negotiating contracts for the commercialisation of information assets

She has deep knowledge in the regulation of credit information and fintech.

She also advises on directors’ duties and practical governance issues for both listed and unlisted companies.

Lyn is a fellow of both the Governance Institute of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. 

She holds a Bachelor of Economics/Law from Macquarie University and Master of Laws from the University of Sydney.

Lyn also lectures in the Gov2 Privacy and Information Management subject in the College of Law, Masters of Laws, (Applied Law) program.
