About the IAPP

Katerina Kouretas is a senior transactional attorney with Accenture, based in the firm's Ottawa office. Prior to joining Accenture, Kouretas was an associate in the Gowlings Ottawa office, practicing in the Business Law Group. Her practice involved general commercial transactions with a focus on technology transactions, telecommunications work and privacy law, providing clients with advice on how to comply with Canada's privacy laws and contractual obligations and assisting with developing and reviewing privacy policies.



Kouretas completed two long-term secondments with a major telecommunications company, where she held the role of senior counsel responsible for revenue deals for business customers. In this role, she drafted and negotiated complex technology service agreements and represented the company in the negotiation of supplier agreements, including resale and distribution agreements, various partner agreements for value added services, maintenance and support agreements, outsourcing agreements, confidentiality and professional services agreements.



Kouretas received a BBA from the University of Ottawa, an LLB from Queen's University and an MBA from McGill University. She obtained her Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) designation from the IAPP in 2010 and is currently the co-chair of the Ottawa IAPP KnowledgeNets. Additionally, Kouretas is fluent in English, French and Greek.
