Polly Ralph, CIPM

Polly leads PwC Legal New Zealand’s privacy and data protection law practice. She has specialised exclusively in data privacy matters for over 15 years, in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
She advises clients on the full range of data privacy issues including cyber/privacy breach response, GDPR / Privacy Act readiness projects, cross border data transfers, e-privacy/marketing, outsourcing, contracting and data issues in the context of business reorganisation.
Prior to PwC, her privacy career has largely been in-house, working as Group DPO at Domestic & General (a UK-headquartered insurance company), Senior Privacy Lawyer at the BBC, Privacy Legal Advisor at the New Zealand Police and Investigations Lead at the New Zealand Privacy Commission.
Polly holds CIPP/E and CIPPM certifications, and is a committee member for the Privacy Foundation New Zealand. She is a regular speaker at data privacy events and conferences.
