Danielle Manner is a strategic privacy thinker and an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in overseeing and directing global privacy functions an initiatives to enable innovation.  She has a strong track record in strategic planning, privacy program management, advising on global privacy operations, regulatory compliance, risk assessments and risk mitigation. 



She currently serves as the Global Chief Privacy Officer for Gilead Sciences and previously held positions as the Global Head of Privacy for Medline Industries and as Senior Counsel in Pfizer’s Global Privacy Office. Prior to joining Pfizer, Danielle worked as a data privacy and information security consultant at IBM with a focus on pharmaceuticals and healthcare. Early in her career, Danielle was an attorney with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP (now Womble Bond Dickinson), counseling clients on a wide variety of state, U.S., and international privacy and data security matters.  She was also a member of Womble’s Telecommunications Group, and worked closely with other practice areas to establish the first dedicated Privacy Practice Group in 2008.



Danielle holds a J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and an undergraduate degree in International Economics and Political Science from the University of Richmond.  She is CIPP certified and very active in the Association for Corporate Counsel and passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion within the legal profession.
