About the IAPP

Farrell is Associate General Counsel at TIAA, in Jacksonville, Florida, where she supports the organization in its privacy-related matters. Prior to serving at TIAA, Farrell was Senior Corporate Counsel at Availity, advising lines of business on general corporate matters, regulatory compliance issues, data privacy/security, intellectual property and licensing issues, HIPAA, governance, and employment law matters. She has extensive experience negotiating and drafting sophisticated health information technology, healthcare, and commercial contracts, licenses, and transactions. Her background also includes advising clients in the financial services, communication technologies, and pharmaceutical industries on technology transactions, IP, data privacy, regulatory matters, licensing agreements, vendor management, and other transaction-related matters

Farrell is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the United States (CIPP/US). She earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, with a Certificate in Intellectual Property, and holds two Bachelors of Arts from the University of Florida.
