About the IAPP

Ernst Oliver Wilhelm is the Chief Privacy Officer for GFT Technologies SE and responsible for the worldwide data protection program of the GFT group. His special interest is focused on a stronger interlocking of legal and technical considerations in the practical application of data protection and security as well as the adoption of a value driven approach in the development and application of AI. He is member of the Executive Board of the German Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (GChACM), Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) and member of the jury of the Klaus Tschira Award. Moreover, he is associated with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Recht und Informatik (DGRI), Berufsverband der Datenschutzbeauftragten Deutschlands (BvD) and longstanding member of the Gesellschaft für Datenschutz und Datensicherheit (GDD) of which he holds a certification in privacy management. Furthermore, Mr. Wilhelm is honorary member of the Italian Association of Data Protection Officers (ASSO DPO) and member of the Scientific Committee of the ASSO DPO. He is also honorary member of the Confederation of European Data Organizations (CEDPO) and a member of the Working Group on AI of CEDPO. He is Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and holder of the CIPPE, CIPM and CIPT credentials of the IAPP. Finally, Ernst Oliver Wilhelm is the winner of the IAPP Vanguard Award and PICCASO Award.
