About the IAPP

Ms. Shanklin acts as lead global IP and data protection counsel for Scripps Networks Interactive, a global media company with brands including Food Network, Cooking Channel, HGTV, Travel Channel, Fine Living, and Asian Food Channel. Scripps Networks’ lifestyle entertainment brands are distributed in 29 languages in more than 175 countries around the globe. In her role as lead privacy and data security counsel, Ms. Shanklin manages Scripps’ global data protection compliance program with focus on the company’s bases of operation in the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Prior to her role at Scripps Networks, Ms. Shanklin was a partner with Holland & Knight LLP where she practiced IP and media law.
