Alan Thomaz, CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP
Alan Thomaz is a legal counsel of Mattos Filho’s intellectual property and technology practice, where he focuses on matters related to privacy, data protection and cybersecurity, information technology and intellectual property. With professional experience in transactional, litigation, contractual and regulatory issues, in the past decade he has assisted high-profile clients of the technology, banking, health and other industries. He obtained a Bachelor of Law (JD equivalent) degree at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, a Postgraduate degree in Intellectual Property and New Business at Getúlio Vargas Foundation and a Master of Laws (LLM equivalent) in Business Law at FGV. Current member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the International Chamber of Commerce and the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association. Certified by IAPP in European law (CIPP/E) and as privacy manager (CIPM), Alan was recognized as a Fellow of Information Privacy by IAPP. He is a lecturer and coauthor of books and articles on intellectual property, technology, privacy and data protection.
