About the IAPP

Jorge Molet is a Mexican-Canadian Data Protection and Intellectual Property practitioner. He has collaborated for the last years with one of the most important Privacy Compliance Software Company as a Privacy Research Lawyer in Toronto, Ontario. He is a pioneer in implementing the Data Protection Law in México in 2010 and has supported many organizations in different industries in the performance of their Privacy Programs. Moreover, he has +20 years of experience in the prosecution and litigation of Intellectual Property assets, Civil and Commercial Law. 

Jorge received his JD from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and his BA from Universidad Intercontinental. He obtained his licence as Intellectual Property expert after his studies at Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City and has in-depth studies in Information Technology Law and Data Protection at Instituto Tecnológico Autonomo de Mexico and McGill University in Montreal, QC. 

Professor at many of the main Universities in Mexico, such as Centro de Investigación y Docencia Economicas (CIDE), Universidad Iberoamericana, Barra Nacional de Abogados, and Katedra Marketing School (Texas University), has also collaborated as a contributor for different international publications. 

 Jorge has been a member of different national associations, such as Asociacion Nacional de Abogados de Empresa, Barra Mexicana de Abogados, Asociación de Internet.MX, Asociación Mexicana para la Protección de la Propiedad Intelectual; and international associations, like International Association of Privacy Professionals, International Technology Law Association, International Trademark Association, and Asociación Interamericana de la Propiedad Intelectual.
