Lauren Kitces is currently a member of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity team at Squire Patton Boggs. Her practice spans a variety of U.S. privacy laws and requirements, and leverages her deep international privacy experience to provide holistic and thoughtful advice on current or potential cross-border issues. Lauren crafts the various aspects of privacy compliance programs, works on corporate due diligence, manages personal information data breach responses, and assists entities participating in the Privacy Shield program. Prior to her time at Squire Patton Boggs she acted as Privacy Counsel for Willis Towers Watson. There she managed global privacy compliance initiatives, advising both the corporate and client facing functions of the company. Her work interacted with a myriad of data privacy and data protection requirements that impacted and shaped approaches and capabilities in the roughly 140 countries in which Willis Towers Watson operates. She has held strategic roles working with the Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Chinese Cybersecurity Law, international data localization provisions, and cross-border data transfer requirements.

A geek at heart, Lauren is drawn to complex legal and jurisdictional questions in the face of unclear or competing provisions and always loves a good conversation on anything related to data privacy.
