Hillary Fielden, CIPP/G
Ms. Fielden is a Lead Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton with over 12 years of legal and policy experience in privacy and information risk management, and standing up enterprise-wide privacy programs for government agencies. Ms. Fielden has provided expertise on breach management, privacy training, and strategic solutions for complex privacy issues for the Department of Justice and intelligence agencies within the Department of Defense. Mrs. Fielden is also a member of the five-person interagency working group that wrote the Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) No. 1253F, Attachment 6, “Privacy Overlay,” which standardizes and simplifies the process to select appropriate security and privacy controls to support privacy requirements.
Prior to joining Booz Allen Hamilton, Ms. Fielden was the Privacy Analyst for the Office of Management and Budget where she supported development of government-wide privacy policies, in particular writing memorandum M-07-16, “Safeguarding Against and Responding to the Breach of Personally Identifiable Information.”
Ms. Fielden developed and taught the graduate-level course “Information Security Ethics and Policy” for three years as an adjunct professor for the Masters of Business Administration program at James Madison University (JMU). Ms. Fielden is also a member of the training faculty for the International Association of Privacy Professionals and teaches courses related to her certifications: CIPP/G, CIPP/US, and CIPT.
Ms. Fielden received her Juris Doctor from the George Mason University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from JMU. Ms. Fielden also successfully completed the United States Government's Presidential Management Fellows Program.
