About the IAPP

Robert Kang is a senior cybersecurity and regulatory compliance attorney at the Southern California Edison Company.  His cybersecurity practice focuses on assisting his company protect the bulk electric grid from the threat of cyber terrorist attack. Robert’s regulatory practice focuses on the development of internal cybersecurity compliance processes and internal investigations. He matriculated from the UCLA School of Law, and was ranked number 10 in his class of 302. Prior to working at Edison, Robert was a senior litigation attorney at the law firm of Jones Day, working on regulatory and intellectual property matters.  



Robert gives technology, privacy and technology-related presentations throughout the United States and Asia. He is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Cybersecurity and of the Data Privacy Advisory Committee of Loyola Law School. He is also the Vice President of the UCLA School of Law Alumni Association.
