In 1991, he joined Telecommunication Products Division as IT business manager, providing leadership to Fiber and Photonics through periods of significant growth and reduction.  During his tenure, he participated as a member of the division’s Malcolm Baldrige award-winning team. He continued driving process rigor, leading IT to ISO 9001 certification, and created the first global infrastructure team. Murphy significantly improved project performance through process improvements by defining and managing a global portfolio of IT investments. In 2008, he was appointed division vice president of IT Service Delivery, growing the talent of the organization, particularly in Asia, while effectively managing operational and project performance globally.
