Cybersecurity Governance Manager

Establishing data privacy and protection departments for two Fortune 500 companies has provided Chris Pahl the opportunity to become a leader within with privacy industry. As the Data Privacy Leader for Southern California Edison, Chris is responsible for strategic and day-to-day operations of the program. He is also responsible for his organization’s data protection policies and procedures.

Chris integrates privacy awareness training throughout his organization speaking frequently with the C-Suite and actively engage on internal social media platforms by providing ongoing awareness topics to 550 active followers to assure data subject rights remain top-of-mind.

As an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Chris served three years as the Los Angeles KnowledgeNet Chair and was a contributing author the 2019 version of IAPP’s global Certified Information Program Manager online training and textbook writing about targeted and effective education and awareness practices. Chris has a doctorate degree in Strategic Leadership and holds certifications designations in Six Sigma, Project Management, CIPP/US, E, C, CIPT, and CIPM, and is a Fellow of Information Privacy.

Chris carries his passion to the classroom where he teaches ethics and privacy at two universities and frequently speaks to community-based organizations regarding data privacy and protection.
