Jim Byrne is Lockheed Martin Corporation's chief privacy officer. He joined Lockheed Martin in August 2008 after nearly 25 years of professional experience in the military and federal government, including several years as a federal narcotics prosecutor and deployed Marine infantry officer. Prior to leaving the government, Byrne served with the Office of the U.S. Special Counsel as the deputy special counsel, a career senior executive service position. Preceding that assignment, he was the assistant inspector general for investigations and general counsel with the Office of the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction. In early 2004, Jim returned to active duty for 18 months with the Marine Corps in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Byrne graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a bachelor's degree in engineering and earned his JD from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida.
