About the IAPP

Pedro is a seasoned executive with 16 years of experience in the tech industry. Pedro has held senior leadership roles at Fortune-500 companies, including Google, Amazon and Uber, leading AI and Cloud products. As Head of Engineering for Checks, Google's AI privacy platform, Pedro leads machine learning engineering efforts to help bring privacy and data compliance for app developers and build a safer digital ecosystem using AI and LLMs. He has also led different AI initiatives within Google Cloud AI for industry verticals. Pedro holds a BS in Computer Science from Tecnologico de Monterrey, and certificates in Applied Data Science, AI/ML and Management and Leadership from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Pedro is an avid coach, mentor and part of Google’s DEI initiatives. He mentors engineering leaders from Google’s startup branch Capital G.
