About the IAPP

Aveen Sufi is the Manager of the Enterprise Privacy Program at Dexcom, a global medical device company and leader in real-time continuous glucose monitoring. In her role, Aveen is responsible for leading a global privacy team and was instrumental in building Dexcom’s privacy training program and communication strategy. Aveen has recently been tapped as the AI Governance Chairwoman at Dexcom responsible for operationalizing AI Governance across the organization. In her privacy career Aveen has worked in information security, global architecture, and the legal domains across both the private and government sectors, spanning the healthcare and manufacturing industries.

She is an active member of the IAPP, a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), member of the IAPP Diversity in Privacy Section and on the team creating and drafting the AI Governance practice exam questions.

Sufi holds a master’s degree in health informatics, a law degree in Privacy Law & Cybersecurity, and master’s certificate in Health Information Privacy and Security.
