About the IAPP

Marion Hemphill is a corporate lawyer with over 20 years’ experience working in law firms, government and in-house in Australia, London and New Zealand.  Marion is Chief Privacy Officer at the Australian Red Cross Blood Service which had to respond to a significant privacy breach in 2016.  The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner commended the Blood Service’s response and stated that the response provides a model of good practice for other organisations. Marion is a firm believer in sharing experiences and knowledge about privacy practices to improve the practices of all organisations and better safeguard our communities.
