About the IAPP

Maren Charisius is Senior Privacy Counsel heading the Global Privacy Governance in the Volkswagen Group. She provides guidance on a range of privacy issues, with a focus on all aspects of globalization of Privacy topics and related business practices. She collaborates cross-functionally with key internal stakeholders such as IT, to advice on adherence of the privacy governance framework. Her team is advising on technical data protection, reporting data breaches, managing data protection contracts globally, and providing legal counsel to ensure the fulfillment of data subject rights at Volkswagen. Before joining the Privacy team, Maren was having a leading role in Volkswagen´s Group Compliance team, where she provided strategic legal advice to affiliates around the world.
