About the IAPP

Jamin Tan is Director for Ecosystem Development and Engagement, Data Innovation and Protection Group, at Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority. His team develops and drives a robust set of partnerships and initiatives across industry, government, and other players to enable the responsible use of data in Singapore.

Jamin's career has spanned the public and private sectors, across technology, social media, and policy issues. He has led global efforts to improve user protection outcomes at Google and TikTok, most recently as TikTok's Global Head for Policy Implementation and Enforcement. Prior to that, Jamin had been an early employee in a fintech startup, and worked across various Singapore government roles at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, National Population and Talent Division, Prime Minister's Office, and Ministry of Defence, where his portfolios had included industrial development, economic strategy, and immigration policy.

Jamin holds Masters degrees in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics as well as Comparative Social Policy, both from Oxford University.
