Heng Wang

Heng Wang is a Professor of Law at Singapore Management University Yong Pung How School of Law. He was a professor at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, where he was a founding co-director of Herbert Smith Freehills China International Business and Economic Law (CIBEL) Centre and an inaugural co-director of the Tsinghua-UNSW Joint Research Centre for International Commercial and Economic Law.
Heng is a recipient of major grants and awards, including being named a research leader by The Australian newspaper’s Research Magazine based on the number of citations.
His work is cited in intergovernmental organisation documents. He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s AI Governance Alliance, and its Future of Blockchain and Digital Assets Initiative.
He has advised or been a (keynote) speaker at events organised by esteemed institutions — including ADB, APEC, Bundesbank, CPMI/BIS, ESCAP, HCCH, ICC, ICSID, IMF, INTERPOL, MAS, UNDP, UNICTRAL, World Bank, and WTO — and the private sector.
His research evolves to explore the future of international economic governance, including AI governance and solutions to risks.
