Anwar Mahfoudh works at the intersection of data, technology, and innovation. He drives transformation across the UN system, harnessing digital technologies, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to promote human rights and the global goals.

 

With over two decades of experience in humanitarian and development contexts, Anwar has led digital transformation and supported AI governance and the ethical stewardship of data in crisis settings and complex environments.

 

In his current role as Chief of the Innovation and Analytics Hub at UN Human Rights, he pioneers methodologies to strengthen evidence-based human rights monitoring and reporting, minimize bias and discrimination in data-driven systems, and promote trustworthy, human rights-centered digital governance. 

 

His work contributes directly to multilateral frameworks, including the Global Digital Compact, aiming to ensure that innovation serves humanity, protects privacy, and mitigates systemic risks to the most vulnerable.
