About the IAPP

Emily R. Williams is an Officer and Counsel on the Legal Affairs team at The Pew Charitable Trusts. There she plays a large role in the organization’s privacy program and advises on intellectual property, data privacy, and various operational transactions. Prior to Pew, Emily worked in the private sector and other non-profit organizations, with a focus on intellectual property, contract negotiation and strategic partnerships. Emily graduated with her JD from Syracuse University College of Law and her BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester. A proud Buffalo Bills fan, now living in Washington DC, Emily roots for the team from afar with her husband, son, and dog, Ripley.
