About the IAPP

Funke is presently the Group Data Protection Officer at Somerset Bridge Group. She is responsible for advising the Board of SBG on their data protection requirements, and for data protection compliance oversight within the group. With over 20 years’ experience in the financial services and insurance industry, Funke has an extensive understanding of compliance, auditing, and regulatory reviews. Being passionate about data rights and how the law evolves to support businesses alike, Funke focuses on operationalising data protection regulations and delivering data protection and privacy programs.

Funke is currently studying for an LLM degree in Data Protection & Intellectual Property with the University of Law, UK. She holds a bachelor’s degree from University College Dublin and a postgrad Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance from the International Compliance Association (ICA).

She has been a member of the IAPP since 2018 and earned the CIPP/E, CIPM and FIP certifications.
