Flip Petillion is Councilor of the GNSO (Generic Names Supporting Organization) Council of ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. The GNSO Council is the parliament for Internet governance. The GNSO is currently preparing the regulatory framework for access to WHOIS information based on legitimate interest. Such access is essential for law enforcement, cybersecurity, fraud prevention and the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
