Distinguished Engineer, Head of Data Privacy and Trust, Data and AI, Technology and Operations at Royal Bank of Canada

Stephanie is Distinguished Engineer heading technology for Data Privacy & Trust at RBC. 



In this role, her teams of engineers and data scientists deliver capabilities that enable technologists across RBC to accelerate solution delivery with security and privacy by design and default. She is on the advisory board for the RBC FinSec Incubator in partnership with Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst at the Toronto Metropolitan University, an initiative to empower early-stage companies by enhancing product security and resilience. Stephanie is a recognized technical expert in the areas of data privacy, master data management, and security automation orchestration and response technologies. 



Currently, she is an active member of the IEEE Standards Association Synthetic Data Industry Connections Expert Group, and was recently appointed to the NSERC-CSE (Natural Sciences & Engineering Research Council of Canada – Communications Security Establishment (NSERC-CSE) evaluation committee for projects focused on robust, secure and safe AI for Canada. 



Prior to joining RBC, Stephanie was an IBM Distinguished Engineer for IBM Security where in her tenure she was CTO for Data Privacy and Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) technologies. She has been a trusted advisor to several Fortune 100 financial, health care and telecommunications institutions throughout her career.



Stephanie and her family are actively involved in addressing food insecurity in the Toronto metropolitan area with Club Sandwich.
