About the IAPP

Edward Hu serves as the Data Protection Officer and Principal Corporate Counsel at Udemy, an online learning company, where he manages the global privacy program and counsels on product and data protection issues. His areas of responsibility include developing and implementing compliant data handling and governance policies and standards, international data transfers, data protection agreements, advising on product development, privacy by design, and keeping Udemy current with the quickly evolving landscape of privacy and security laws, regulations, and best practices. Prior to joining Udemy, Edward served as Senior Privacy Counsel and Data Protection Officer for TrustArc. Edward lives in the San Francisco Bay Area where he enjoys spending time with his family, drawing, gaming, and a good vegetarian meal.
