Christian Aretz is an expert in German and European Data Protection Law and Information Security Standards with more than 20 years of working experience. He is Managing Director of VP Data, a Berlin based Data Protection and Privacy Law Consultancy. Previously, he was working on Data Protection, Privacy Law and Information Security in different German and international companies.



Christian has authored articles focused on Data Protection and Information Security in nationally and internationally recognized publications and is guest lecturer at the "Goethe Business School" (Goethe University Frankfurt).



In his free time, Christian is a renowned Early Music classical singer and plays Renaissance and Baroque lute.



He is certified as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, FIP, CISM and ISO 27001 Senior Lead Implementer.
