About the IAPP

Sheri Porath Rockwell is a Privacy and Cybersecurity Counsel at Sidley Austin, in their Century City office. She serves as an Officer and Immediate Past Chair of the California Lawyers Association’s Privacy Law Section. Sheri advises large companies on privacy compliance and corporate data governance programs, including compliance with state data privacy laws, the intersection between employment and privacy law, ad tech law, and health and financial privacy laws. She also conducts privacy and security diligence for M&A transactions and advises clients about compliance with FTC advertising regulations. She has co-chaired the CLA Privacy Law Summit for the past two years, regularly delivers presentations regarding issues in US privacy law, and contributes to various privacy publications. Sheri also has experience litigating a variety of complex commercial matters. A native Angeleno, Sheri graduated from U.C. Berkeley and USC Gould School of Law, and holds IAPP CIPP/US and CIPP/EU certifications.
