About the IAPP

Tanya M. Richardson serves as Associate General Counsel at Snap Inc., where she advises on the privacy, product, AI, and AR initiatives shaping the company’s approach to digital safety and compliance. With over a decade of experience in privacy and cybersecurity, Tanya leads cross-functional teams at Snap to align product innovation with evolving global privacy standards. As an Advisory Board Member for the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), she contributes to the organization’s thought leadership on AI and machine learning.

Before joining Snap, Tanya held privacy leadership roles, including as Senior Counsel at Uber, where she developed privacy-by-design strategies and advised on global data privacy compliance. She has also served as Vice President and Chief Privacy Officer at a global cybersecurity firm, overseeing privacy and security protocols. Tanya’s background spans roles advising on AI data ethics, privacy by design, and regulatory compliance for GDPR, CCPA, the EU AI Act and other evolving privacy and AI frameworks.

Tanya is a certified privacy professional, holding CIPP/US/E/C, CIPM, CIPT, and CDPSE credentials, with experience in privacy, data ethics, and regulatory issues at the intersection of technology and law.
