About the IAPP

Cécile Martin is a Partner of the Ogletree Deakins Paris office.

Cécile has practiced labor and employment law for more than 15 years and has developed a strong experience particularly regarding compensation policies (including material risk takers), exit of high executive officers, discrimination and harassment litigation, corporate restructuring and mass redundancies plans as well as the mass litigation matters that frequently follow.

In addition, Cécile earned extensive experience in HR data privacy. By starting her career at the French Data Protection Agency (CNIL), Cécile has developed leading edge skills especially regarding the monitoring of employees at the workplace, whistleblowing alerts, social media use and international transfer of data. She is therefore very involved with the new European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Cécile is a lecturer in data protection law at Paris La Sorbonne University and regularly provides training to companies regarding their compliance with the GDPR.

Cécile was named “Rising Star” in 2015 by Décideurs Magazine and was ranked in 2017 “Next Generation Lawyer” by Legal 500 and “Leading Individual” by Chambers in 2017 and 2018.

Cécile Martin est avocate associée en droit social du cabinet Ogletree Deakins Paris. Elle a pour particularité de disposer d’une expertise sectorielle reconnue sur l’ensemble des sujets de « data privacy », dans la mesure où elle a travaillé à la CNIL. A ce titre, elle gère toutes les problématiques liées au management des données personnelles salariales, de cyber surveillance, et d’alertes éthiques en plus de son expérience en matière de gestion sociale.

Très impliquée auprès d’entreprises sur les mises en conformité avec le nouveau Règlement de protection des données personnelles (RGPD) dans ses aspects sociaux, elle est membre de l’IAPP et enseigne le droit de la protection des données personnelles à l’Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.
