Lead Privacy Counsel

Sarah works as EMEA Privacy Counsel at SAS Institute Inc., based in Belgium. She joined the company to help building the global privacy program in 2018. She deals specifically with GDPR compliance matters and new privacy laws in Africa and the Middle East. Sarah provides privacy assessments, creates trainings and coordinates privacy questions between the EMEA teams and the company’s U.S. headquarters. She also works on the company’s international data flow strategy and is involved in privacy discussions for contract negotiations with customers. Prior to this role, Sarah worked as an attorney in the Privacy & Cybersecurity practice of a U.S. law firm in Brussels where she advised multinationals and startups on EU privacy and data protection law.

Sarah is a French-qualified attorney and holds a Master of Laws degree in Regulation and Technology Law from King’s College London as well as a Bachelor in political science from Sciences Po Bordeaux. She is a speaker for different events on privacy and data protection law as well as ethics discussions for AI. Sarah speaks French, English and Spanish.
