Lead, Data & Model Ethics - Privacy Engineering and Design

Shannon Douma is the Data & Model Ethics, Privacy Engineering & Design Lead at Thomson Reuters, responsible for the design and implementation of privacy and ethics tooling and techniques that govern all data use and Model development across the enterprise. Previously, Shannon worked in the Canadian public and private healthcare spaces providing privacy expertise for research and analytics initiatives focused on improving access to Digital Health resources and direct patient care.

Shannon has over 10 years of experience in the privacy space and believes that education and awareness are key to successful privacy and ethics adoption. Her business minded and collaborative approach has awarded her a proven track record of success in developing effective and critical policies and organization-wide training programs to sustain complaint and privacy-focused data management. Outside of work, Shannon can be found playing ball hockey or hosting dinner parties for family and friends.
