About the IAPP

Michael manages Product Privacy across cloud, hardware, and software at Calix, a global telecommunications company providing services to broadband service providers.

Before joining Calix, Michael managed data privacy/protection, integrity, and compliance at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development North America, Inc. (MBRDNA) were he was responsible for privacy oversight of  new products, features, and projects in telematics/autonomous vehicles/artificial intelligence in collaboration with the data protection organization in Germany. Prior to joining MBRDNA, Michael was Head of Data Ethics/Director of Products and Engineering at LiveRamp where he managed the global privacy program on data connectivity and identify resolution in the adtech/martech industry. Prior to joining LiveRamp, Michael was a management consultant at Deloitte & Touche’s Cyber Strategy practice. During his time at Deloitte, Michael managed programs for US and international companies on GDPR/privacy, wargaming, encryption, and incident response for clients in the entertainment, financial services, and e-commerce industries. Michael received performance awards at Deloitte and was the senior lead manager on the technical workstream for a financial services company to develop a $180M enterprise data protection encryption program and strategy for applications utilized across the organization’s ecosystem. Michael was a 2019 featured speaker at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference on GDPR.

Michael has a BA from the University of Central Florida (Magna cum laude), a JD from Arizona State University College of Law (Willard Pedrick Scholar), and an EPGM from MIT – Sloan School of Management.
